In his fourth solo outing for Vaknar, titled ‘Spor Af Intet, Danish composer øjeRum presents us with two cyclically reverberating long form works.
Side A treats us to an arresting chorus of tenderly bellowing organ movements. The recording also incorporates faint trembling echoes of what seems like the touch of a pedal or the release of a key, further imbuing the work with a deeply human element.
Side B explores a different yet equally halting movement, featuring an ambient refrain laden with both, a sense of grief and sanguinity.
Throughout the hour long duration of both works, it is hard not to be moved by their ever repeating cycles of emotive resonance, becoming not simply meditations on movement, but on time itself.
Brings back a lot of personal track writing memories, does track one. Amazing music by ojerum. "Don't Worry Mother" is dark without even trying to be, the best kind of writer catharsis for an artist like ojerum. Mick Buckingham (Muttley SV)
Every track is as beautiful and haunting as implied by the title of the album.
This works as well for a romance as it does for a kind of ghost story.
Resonant and rich. Impolight
